The story:
My great-grandfather built a hotel in booming Houston. This was back in the days before Holiday Inns and La Quintas. This was a family ran motel.
Years later, it passed down to my grandfather. My mother and her sisters spent their summers working the front desk. He sold the motel when he became older, but we visited the hotel on occasions of nostalgia.
The owners decided that the property was more valuable sold to a development company for condominiums. We watched the destruction with heavy hearts.

I always liked that slide..

Woo, major editing.
NOTE: This photo has had some editing done. The top used to be lined with branches. If you consider this a photomanip, treat it so. :) That's also why the top might look funny. I suck at photoshop..

Thanks! This motel had been in our family for a long time, so tried to get that feeling.

Sedici anni di sottosuolo.
A sad sight indeed, but it's a very good picture that is well focused. Would be prime newspaper or magazine material.

That young man with the long, auburn hair and the impudent face - that young man was not really a poet; but surely he was a poem.
